According to Billboard, 200,000 iTunes users in the US chose to download their free U2 album on the day it became available. (http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6244247/u2-songs-of-innocence-download-numbers)
It’s worth pointing out that Universal say these figures are wrong, but if there IS any validity to them, it lets us potentially establish a click through rate (CTR) on the U2 record. Click through rate is - roughly! - defined by the number of clicks as a percentage of the number of exposures something (like an ad) gets. If an ad gets 1 million exposures, and 10,000 people click on it, it has a CTR of 1%.
